T HE CULTURE DOCTOR ® PTY LTD is a business consulting firm anchored in powerful corporate sociology. The consultancy brings deep understanding of just how corporate culture can be harnessed to drive significant and measurable productivity increases for your company.

Dr Tony Watt is the principal consultant who leads the delivery of his company’s high-value professional services. He avoids the discredited ‘cookie-cutter’ approach to remedying corporate ills. His approach is tailor-made for each organisation and their unique cultures. Dr Watt understands that a rational, top-down model of cultural change and alignment just doesn’t work. Leaders get short-term compliance on the surface but underneath nothing changes in the beliefs of the team. Unfortunately, no discretionary effort is released.

What’s the alternative? The Culture Doctor has a four step process for remedying an ailing corporate culture and releasing discretionary effort. It’s this discretionary effort of the people of any organisation that takes it from good to great. First step is to ASK the people of the organisation what values and beliefs drive them. This is the diagnosis bit. Minessence’s on-line AVI tools are used. A series of workshops develop team-designed company-unique measures based on the highest priority commonly shared values of the company and its people. This community of belief called culture can be measured. Once this asking step has been completed and the measurement recorded, the crucial ‘pay attention’ or LISTEN step is commenced. This is the prognosis bit. This is the stage when the prescription or corporate remedy is developed. New strategy is developed to address the identified problems. Next the company’s leaders must ACT and be seen to act upon the agreed strategies. This is the prescription bit. Once the remedy is taken, the endless cycle moves to ASK AGAIN. In this intensely guided process, your company will unfold its competitive edge of greatness. When your team believes their corporate culture is healthy then they will behave as a healthy community of beliefs.
